Vintage 1970s Rusty Burgundy Curved-Panel Leather Jacket

Rusty red leather jacket by East West Musical Instruments, San Francisco, c. 1970–75 — the legendary Haight-Ashbury leatherworks that counted Janis Joplin, Elvis Presley, Iggy Pop, and Carlos Santana among their clients.

  • Elaborate curved panel seaming at front creating a fitted silhouette
  • Center back construction: symmetrical curved seam lines from shoulder blades converge into an eye-shaped inset panel at center back
  • Small leather belt tabs at each side seam
  • Angled slash pockets at hips
  • Red/rust satin lining
  • Rich patina throughout from age and use
  • Interior: stamped leather label reading "East West Musical Instruments / San Francisco / LEATHER GARMENTS" with separate woven "Made in USA" label
  • Exterior collar: woven label reading "EAST·WEST / LEATHERS SAN FRANCISCO / [buffalo logo] / 1967 / California"

Condition details: In good vintage condition consistent with its age and use. Natural leather wrinkling and surface aging throughout. Visible lighter wear and scuff patches on sleeve and side areas (see photos). Zipper fully functional. Lining worn — fraying at the hem and dye speckling on the satin; consistent with age.
