Party gown in brown plaid taffeta, c. 1940s, by Party Lines by Domb — the early California label of Emma Domb.

Brown taffeta with plaid windowpane pattern; warm brown base with cream and grey-blue stripes; strong iridescent sheen consistent with silk or acetate taffeta
Structured sweetheart bodice with vertical boning channels; ruched/gathered trim along the neckline edge
Spaghetti straps; center back concealed zipper
Drop-waist silhouette with elasticized shirred band at the waist transition
Full gathered gown-length skirt
Sculptural bow/rosette detail at left hip

Condition details: In good, gently used vintage condition consistent with its age. Multiple small snags throughout, concentrated at the hem — visible in photos but unobtrusive in wear. Small spots/marks near the bodice boning channels (photos 8, 16), consistent with age. Fraying threads at interior seams, cosmetic and consistent with the garment's age. Structure and boning intact.
